At HerMove, we are passionate about supporting local clubs that create inclusive and empowering spaces for girls in sport. That's why we are incredibly proud to shine a spotlight on East Grinstead Meads FC, the largest grassroots football club in our area.
A Commitment to the Girls' Game
Supporting girls' football is at the very heart of the club's ethos. EG Meads FC is committed to developing a full pathway for players, starting from their youngest age groups right through to a future Women’s team that reflects their core values of opportunity, connection, and community.
This creates a sustainable and supportive environment where girls can not only start their football journey but grow and thrive in the sport for years to come.
Success Stories and a Thriving Community
The club already has a fantastic set of established girls' teams, including thriving U11, U13, and U14 squads. Their commitment to development is already paying off, with incredible success stories like that of their U15 Girls team (formerly U13s).
In the 2023/2024 season, the team were crowned League Champions after winning all 18 of their matches and also reached the Semi-Final of the Sussex Challenge Cup. This fantastic achievement has seen them promoted to Division 1 for the upcoming season.
Get Involved: New U6 Teams Launching This August!
The future is looking even brighter with the exciting launch of new U6 teams this August. The club hopes to establish a full girls’ side right from this early foundation, creating the next generation of players and complementing their existing successful teams.
With a fantastic group of players and coaches supporting all footballing abilities, EG Meads FC is the perfect place for girls to start their journey in the sport.
How to Join:
For the new U6 teams and all other age groups, the club encourages interested players and parents to get in touch.
Training for the U14 Girls takes place on Thursdays from 6:30 - 7:30 pm at the East Grinstead Sports Club, with competitive matches on Sundays.
