What an amazing afternoon at Meridian East Court!

HerMove was incredibly proud to be there today, supporting the annual Primary Schools Cross Country Races. We saw a fantastic turnout on a beautiful sunny afternoon, confirming the huge appetite for organised sport among young people in our community.
The spirit and determination on display from all the young athletes were truly inspiring. Every race, from the Year 4 boys and girls tackling 1500m to the Year 5 and 6 runners taking on 2300m, was full of effort, smiles, and remarkable team spirit.
The event perfectly embodies two core pillars of the HerMove campaign: Local Legacy and Inclusion Through Sport. Providing these early opportunities for children, especially girls, to represent their schools and experience the joy of achievement is vital for building lifelong confidence.
We were honored to be joined by our Campaign leader, Mayor John Belsey, who shared in the enthusiasm and cheered the runners on. It was brilliant to see so many families, teachers, and volunteers supporting the event, reinforcing the strength of our local community.
Congratulations again to every single young athlete who participated and represented their school with such dedication!
