Our newest blog post features Imogen Vartan, a passionate personal trainer who has dedicated her career to this very idea. Her story is a testament to how fitness can be a tool for empowerment and balance, helping us through life’s toughest challenges.

Hi, I’m Imogen, and I’m a Level 4 qualified personal trainer. My journey into fitness began as a personal one. I first turned to exercise to feel healthier and stronger, but what surprised me most was how much it supported my mental health. Movement became my outlet, my confidence boost, and the thing that helped me through life’s challenges.
That shift inspired me to become a trainer. I wanted to give back what fitness gave to me a sense of empowerment and balance. Over the years I’ve gained qualifications in lower back pain management, indoor cycle, circuits, and Pilates (including reformer Pilates), which means I can support people at all stages of their fitness journey. Whether it’s recovering from setbacks, building strength, or simply finding joy in moving again, I love tailoring sessions to individual needs.
Supporting HerMove East Grinstead feels like a natural extension of my mission. This campaign is about more than exercise it’s about community, connection, and reminding women and girls that movement is for everyone. I believe fitness should be welcoming, inclusive, and fun, and I’m so proud to be part of something that makes it accessible to all.
Today, I offer personal training at East Grinstead Sports Club and Cutting Fitness in Turners Hill both fantastic venues with top-spec equipment and welcoming communities. Whether it’s one-to-one, small group sessions, or classes, I love creating supportive programmes that meet people where they are.

Level 3 Diploma in Personal Training
Indoor Cycle Instructor
Circuit Training Instructor
Pilates Instructor, including Reformer Pilates
