At HerMove, we believe that movement is about much more than just physical fitness; it’s a powerful tool for healing and building a strong community. Our newest blog post features the personal journeys of Charlotte Stewart and Daphne Harman-Clarke, who have created a beautiful, welcoming space for everyone at Yard Yoga. Their story is a perfect example of how finding the right practice can bring strength and peace, even in challenging times.

Charlotte Stewart Yoga Teacher and Studio Manager
“In the midst of winter, I found there was, within me, an invincible summer.” - Albert Camus
I have always loved exercise but my own yoga journey began during a time of deep personal loss, and it was through my own practice of doing yoga that helped me move through grief with a better understanding of compassion and courage. Inspired by how healing yoga can be, I trained to become a teacher and am now passionate about creating a welcoming, light-hearted space where everyone feels safe to show up just as they are.
I lead a variety of classes including Hot Yoga, Hatha, and Vinyasa. I want to ensure that everyone enjoys their practice offering that precious hour where you can truly focus on yourself and whatever you need that day.

Daphne Harman-Clarke Founder, Managing Director & Osteopath
Daphne co-founded Yard Yoga in 2014 with her sister Sarah, with the vision of creating a beautiful, welcoming space that fit around busy family life. Her yoga journey began over 15 years ago in London, where she fell in love with hot yoga despite initially thinking it wasn’t for her.
A fully qualified osteopath with a specialism in paediatrics, Daphne now treats patients from all walks of life in her on-site treatment room. While not a yoga teacher herself, she brings her deep knowledge of anatomy to the studio, teaching the Anatomy & Physiology module on Yard Yoga’s 200hr teacher training and supporting students working with injuries.
“The studio is such a special place to me it's where I’d happily spend all my time. I’m so proud of our amazing community and teachers!”
Founded in 2014 by sisters Sarah Campbell-Lloyd and Daphne Harman-Clarke, Yard Yoga was created to be a beautiful, welcoming space where everyone feels at home. They offer a dynamic blend of Hot Yoga, Vinyasa, Hatha, Pregnancy, and Yin Yoga classes, designed for all levels so you can find the practice that suits your goals. Passionate about making yoga accessible to all, they believe it’s never too late to start. Whether you're looking to deepen your practice, boost your wellbeing, or experience the benefits of their infrared heated studio, Yard Yoga is a space to grow, move, and thrive.
This story is a powerful reminder that movement is for everyone, regardless of what you're facing. If you're looking for a welcoming space to start or deepen your practice.
